ParkMoto is a free motorcycle parking bay finder for London. It runs entirely in your browser. There's no account, no registration, and no login. You open it, find a bay, and go.
We use Umami Cloud to count page visits. Umami is a privacy-friendly analytics tool that doesn't use cookies, doesn't collect personal data, and doesn't track you across websites. It tells us how many people visited the site and which pages they looked at. That's it.
Umami doesn't store your IP address, doesn't fingerprint your browser, and doesn't build a profile about you. It's compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR without needing a cookie banner.
You can read more about how Umami handles privacy at umami.is/privacy.
ParkMoto can use your device's GPS, but only when you choose to. Two things ask for it. The "My location" button (the pin icon) centres the map on where you are. The report button (the "+" icon) tags a bay report with your coordinates. If you say no to either, the app still works. You just won't get those two features.
Your GPS coordinates are processed in your browser. They're included in the report email if you choose to send one, so we know where the bay is. We don't store your location on any server, and we don't track where you go.
If you take a photo of a parking bay through the app, it's stored in your browser's local storage on your device. Photos never leave your phone or computer unless you choose to send them. We don't have access to your photos.
When you search for a location, ParkMoto sends your query to Nominatim (OpenStreetMap's geocoding service) or Photon (a backup geocoder by Komoot). These are third-party services with their own privacy policies. We don't log your searches.
ParkMoto loads motorcycle bay data from OpenStreetMap via the Overpass API and map tiles from CARTO. These are third-party services that may log standard web request data (IP address, timestamp). We don't control those logs.
Some bay data also comes from council Freedom of Information datasets that ship with the app, published under the Open Government Licence v3.0. That data is bundled into ParkMoto and served from our own site, so loading it doesn't share anything about you with anyone else.
ParkMoto uses two fonts, DM Sans and Space Mono, loaded from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser fetches them from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, so Google receives your IP address as part of that request. Google says it doesn't use these requests to build a profile or serve ads. We don't send Google anything else about you.
When you tap "Go via Google Maps" or "Go via Waze," you are redirected to those services. They will receive your destination coordinates. Refer to Google's and Waze's privacy policies for how they handle that data.
ParkMoto doesn't set any cookies. It uses your browser's local storage to cache map data (so searches load faster) and to store your favourited bays and any photos you've taken. This data stays on your device. You can clear it any time through your browser settings.
If you send us an email (bay reports, questions, feedback), we'll have your email address because you sent it to us. We won't add you to any mailing list, and we won't share your email with anyone.
Bay reports sent by email are retained only as long as needed to process the report and update OpenStreetMap. We don't archive reports or build a database of reporter identities.
ParkMoto isn't aimed at children, but there's nothing to worry about. We don't collect personal data from anyone, regardless of age.
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. We won't make it worse. The core commitment stays the same: we don't collect personal data and we don't track you.
